This past Saturday was a big day for both The VancouverWhitecaps and Montreal Impact. It was the 2012 season opener for the Whitecaps and the Impacts first ever MLS game. There are now 3 Canadian teams in the MLS including Toronto FC.
A sold out crowd of 21,000 was on hand at BC Place. It wasan evenly played and entertaining game with the Whitecaps coming out ahead 2 –0.

It looks like the beginning of a good rivalry between thesetwo Canadian teams. The Montreal Impact and Vancouver Whitecaps will get to renew their rivalry soon enough when they will be joined by FC Edmonton and Toronto FC in the Amway Canadian Championship this coming May.
